Is this right for you?

Business Essentials works best when the need is clear.

It is built for smaller firms and defined assignments. It is not a cut-price substitute for a full compliance function or a complex FCA authorisation project.

Likely to fit

  • A straightforward UK business model
  • A limited, clearly defined permission or notification
  • Routine questions without an imminent deadline
  • A firm able to own and implement its compliance decisions

Needs a tailored scope

  • Complex or novel permissions and structures
  • Cryptoasset, investment-firm, safeguarding or CASS work
  • Audits, remediation or urgent regulatory incidents
  • Substantial drafting or an outsourced compliance function

Questions

What to know before buying

Does payment make me a client immediately?

No. Your checkout is an offer to engage C&G. The contract starts when C&G completes its checks and emails its acceptance and start date. If C&G declines, the initial payment is refunded in accordance with the Terms.

Does the application price include the FCA’s fee?

No. Published prices are C&G professional fees and exclude VAT, FCA fees and other third-party costs.

What is excluded from the small-firm retainer?

It does not include regulatory applications, audits, formal assurance, substantial drafting, substantive breach or incident work, remediation, regulatory deadline monitoring or responsibility for operating your compliance function. Initial triage of an urgent regulatory issue is included, but further work may require a separate engagement.

How does the retainer renew?

The Product Summary shows the minimum term and billing frequency. Renewal, notice and the annual fee-review mechanism are set out in the Business Essentials Terms.

Can C&G guarantee FCA approval?

No. The FCA makes the regulatory decision. C&G supports the agreed application work but cannot guarantee approval or a particular timetable.

What if my firm does not fit a package?

C&G will explain why and, where appropriate, offer a tailored scope. You will not be moved into additional paid work without agreement.
